Phase 1
Unboxing & Inspection
Each component is unboxed and checked by hand under a work light for surface flatness, chips, and factory defects before any paint touches it.
Phase 2
Sanding & Priming
We scuff-sand the factory laminate with vacuum-assisted sanders to keep dust down, then apply a bonding primer so the paint grips and doesn't peel.
Phase 3
Spraying & Curing
Each piece is sprayed with an HVLP sprayer in a draped, filtered spray area for an even coat, then left to cure on drying racks before final inspection and packing.

Who we are
Flatpack Paint Studio (“we,” “us”) offers a professional painting service for IKEA PAX and BILLY components. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Flatpack Paint Studio is an independent business and is not affiliated with IKEA.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote we collect:
- your name, email address, ZIP code and (optionally) phone number;
- the projects you build in the estimator: the components, colors and finishes you choose, and the resulting estimate;
- your answers to our form questions (timeline and price reaction) and any notes you write.
Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It collects things like pages and features used, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (for example, the social post or ad you clicked, through campaign tags in the link). We also keep your estimator progress and campaign tags in your browser’s session storage while the site is open, so the estimator works as you move between steps.
How we use information
- to prepare and send you the quote you requested and follow up about it;
- to contact you by email about our early-access launch, if you agreed to this when you submitted the form;
- to understand demand, pricing and which marketing is working, so we can improve the service and decide how to build the business;
- to keep the site secure and prevent spam.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Formspree, which receives and delivers the quote requests you submit;
- Google Analytics, which provides site usage statistics;
- our website hosting provider, which delivers the site to your browser.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights. If the business is sold or reorganized, your information may transfer to the new owner.
Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to recognize returning visitors and measure usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works without them.
How long we keep information
We keep quote requests and related contact details only as long as we need them to respond to you, run the early-access launch and keep reasonable business records. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Email: every marketing email will include an unsubscribe option, and you can also write to us to opt out.
- Access, correction and deletion: email us and we will review and act on your request. Depending on where you live (for example, California and several other states), you may have legal rights to know what we hold, correct it, delete it, or opt out of certain uses. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and the site is served over HTTPS. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
Children
